Jonathan Decamps

I have been working with institutions and organizations that advocate for immigrant rights such as Americans for Immigrant Justice in South Florida and Latino Justice in New York, by donating the images for their silent auctions at their respective annual galas. I have also featured some of the clients they advocate for in these portraits. Their support has been invaluable in promoting the cause.

I want to keep this project going in other cities around the country where there are undocumented immigrants with interesting stories about their lives, and how they thrive and contribute to this country. At the same time,  I want to create consciousness among the spectators; to bring awareness of the need for a suitable immigration system reform, and how important their vote is to the lives of thousands.

Media coverage has been very favorable, but I think there is plenty of room for more, I want to reach other publications and photography magazines that support human rights issues. Here are a couple of recent clips from Univision and from FEAST Miami Grant for which the project was awarded, and article in the Dominican news paper Listin Diario at the beginning of the year.

Other promotions have been taking place through public art installations; such as on billboards, buses, and bus shelters around the Miami-Dade County area.  This project was also selected under Taking Focus, INC.’s fiscal sponsorship program. This allows all donations made to this projectto be tax deductible under their 501c3 status.

I will be showing next July 9th of 2016 at the Rio Gallery Penthouse in New York, which I am collecting sponsorship and donations for the prints and walls that will be exhibiting throughout the month of July.

Attached, I am sending examples of other portraits in different cities that I have already completed, also some of the events and galas that I have participated, our Donation Request Letter and logo and t-shirt of the project, I recently starting to sell the t-shirts and planning on selling small prints, magnets, and other merchandises to bring income in order to complete the 100 portraits that I want to do.

Please, take a few minutes to look at the Facebook page dedicated to the project, and its concerned issues. Please like and share among your community of friends, Thanks.
